C1 - There are times when one gets over-awed about the assignments and starts going through the motions. on looking from the TOP one realises that even when one may not like the situation s/he is in it is important to give your everything. No half measures. jab karna hi hain kaam to dhang se kaam karo. The consistent effort will help in not only making you a dependable person but would also build your personality.
Amazing experiences of the day:-
  • Lack of electricity through out the night and Neeraj just going out and sleeping in balcony on such a hot surface with an ease that was amazing. obviously it required both mental conditioning - to be at ease in any situation and also to be physically fit.
  • Taking help from the policeman as we lost our way to Azadpur was so welcome. Since he knew that there is a VIP route on the normal way, he advised us the best and congestion free route. To me technology is helpful but it has big limitations too.
  • Importance of Ring Road - while traveling at the Ring Road, we were able to discover the beauty of Ring Road - amazing experience.
And today is the First day of the Class.

Why FUN is important?

it started with a video which I shared with my team about important laws of success – one of them being – :Having FUN at work”. off-course, there were many queries regarding this like how do you have fun when you are not doing the work that you don’t like. this is very much true. a lot of time we are doing things which we actually don’t like. but, hey, that’s life – isn’t it?  well, then what do you do? Simple, find FUN!

now what is that? let me put forth my version of the explaination with an example that happened with me couple of days back.  I went for some information gathering work asked by Nanaji and did the requisite. as I was returning back after doing the work dull-ly I realised that I forgot to take the person’ number which would have come really handy for any other future purpose. simple, yet important info. why did I failed or missed it? simply because I was not at all interested in the job and then I had left home after a brief altercation. so, first having peace is the most important thing in life as it allows you to concnentrate with right concentration and no bias towards a situation. and second, once a job has been entrusted to you – enjoy it – why make yourself miserable by taking it as a burden. Means – if I was going to that place, I would have spent some more time, got some useful info on arrangements which could have helped me in future (Considering we also organise such big things in Pratham), made some friends – as I have latedly realised the power to connect is so important. instead of all this what was my take-away? heavy-ness, annoyance etc.

Life is a journey, enjoy every moment for it is the journey that is equally or some time more important than the destination.

Wisdom from Naani

1) Sayyam is one of the most important thing that one can have.

2) Budgeting is a critical component for running a HH.

3) The only way to face challenges in life is to work hard-work.

4) Plan, but don’t loose your sleep over it.

yesterday evening, before going to read the fascinating book, i happened to watch IInd Wimbeldon 2009 Sedmi-final between the crowd favourite - Andy Murray and still a supremely fit and come-back player - Andy Roddick. though it was a 4 set match, a look at the vital stats show that it was nothing less then a nail biter. While Murray had more winners, aces and less errors, Roddick came good when it mattered the most. second, he was able to break the image of hard hitting player only with some deft touches and serve and volly tactics. it's rare to see such keenly fought matches.

What was most amazing was - Crowd! how can crowd get behind you!
Murray's each and every point was applauded by the crowd and he worked up wuite well. buit amidst all this, Roddick, quite unlike of him, kept the cool. and won! a great match.

i remember in Gladiator, one of the character advices Russel to win the crowd becasue that is equally important.

Leander - Sublime touch

i had a privilege to watch this match live. this is finals of French Open 2009 at Roland Garros. leander played a blinder of a tennis with deft touches that have now become part of the repertoire. as he is ageing, his game has now incorporating very sweetly timed and placed shots. and to top it his game reached new zenith when he saw martina Navratilova along with Bill Gates came to sit in the audience section.
What a player!

read this article this mornign about a comparison between Sania and Saina where the author was quoting Prakash Padukone's view that Saina has done more proud as she has moved to number 7 in the world while Sania's best effort was 27th.
and then the article moved to innocuous and stupid things like glamour and things not related to sport or achievement. what a waste of time and space!
